Why use probiotics for dogs

MICROMED FOR DOGS

An all natural spray-on probiotic for ear infections and persistent bacterial and fungal skin conditions, such as:

  • Allergic dermatitis (mild to extreme itch) triggered by environmental irritants and to a lesser degree food allergies.  Allergies is always a secondary issue not a primary cause, therefore the primary cause must be isolated, be it gut dysbiosis, inflammation, Leaky Gut or other issue.
  • Staphylococcal pyoderma (red skin bumps up to 1cm in diameter and/or black skin spots aka hyper-pigmented macules)
  • Histoplasmosis (ulceration and skin lesions) caused by fungal infections
  • Malassezia dermatitis (black, crusty skin)
  • Seborrhoea sicca (dandruff) when caused by bacterial or fungal cond.
  • Seborrhoea oleosa (greasy, oily skin), when caused by bacterial or fungal cond.
  • Folliculitis (mild to severe itch) caused by a fungal infection
  • Furunculosis (fluid-filled nodule between the toe area) usually bacterial in origin
  • Lichenificatuion or elephant skin (chronic inflammation usually suffered over long period of time)
  • Ringworm, circular patches, often found on the head, paws, ears and forelegs that become inflamed, and scaly, leading to hair loss around the lesions.  Very contagious so must be treated at the first signs.
  • Itch, redness and pus due to infection, developing into 'hotspots'
  • Ear Infections, increasingly common, can be mites OR bacterial or fungal.  The difference is mites will produce what appears like coffee grounds, in the ear canal, as opposed to fungal which is normally malodorous, or bacterial where there is inflammation and pain.
  • Alopecia due to fungal or bacterial issues
  • Impetigo usually found on puppies and due to bacterial infection with Staph,  symptoms being small, pus-filled blisters that may break, ooze and crust over.  In older dogs, this condition is referred to as bullous impetigo, and is usually hormonal or belies an underlying health issue.
